Although Judge DiLorenzo granted a claim petition on 2/2/18, Greenbaum & Pinto still secured a favorable decision for the employer! In this case, the WC Judge accepted the Claimant’s testimony that on 2/23/16, he was pulled into a sander machine, which mangled his left hand, severing the tendon of the exterior tendon, cutting bone, and the ring finger of left hand and wrist were also cut. However, Joe Pinto was able to prove that Claimant made a full recovery and could have returned to work without restrictions as of 8/14/17. This was a win!

On 1/18/18, Greenbaum & Pinto secured an appeal board decision affirming a defense verdict!!! This is a case where the Claimant suffered a left inguinal hernia alleging it happened at work. Greenbaum & Pinto poked enough holes in both the Claimant’s testimony and also the testimony of the Claimant’s experts to prove that the hernia injury was not work related, and the workers’ compensation judge issued a defense verdict denying the claim petition. We are very happy with this decision!

Greenbaum & Pinto aggressively defended against this slip and fall work injury. Although the judge granted the claim petition, they succeeded in getting Claimant’s benefits terminated within 6 weeks of the injury date, utilizing surveillance and credible medical evidence.

Claimant filed a claim petition seeking ongoing full disability benefits on the basis of his doctor’s diagnosis of knee pain, knee sprain, and meniscal tearing, which was allegedly directly caused by a work injury. The defense team at Greenbaum & Pinto utilized a highly qualified expert orthopedic surgeon and was also able to sift through all the facts to obtain a defense verdict!

Sometimes things slip through the cracks and deadlines can be missed by busy employers or their insurance carriers, which can make an employer and the insurer liable  for workers’ comp even before the case is litigated just because they missed a deadline.  We are fortunate that Joe Pinto is able to quickly resolve issues like these, taking the cases from disaster to manageable and even restoring them to the pre-mistake status. In particular, he was able to settle a case with ongoing psychological injuries and a pending yellow freight motion for $15,000.00.  Thank you Joe!
